Steel Team Leader
Starting pay $28/hr plus attendance premium!
Job Summary: The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily production and operational activities, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement goals are achieved. This role provides leadership, coaching, technical support, and operational coordination for associates and technicians while maintaining compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
Essential Functions
Production & Operations Management
- Assign associates to processes daily based on production requirements.
- Confirm daily and hourly output targets are achieved.
- Monitor operation rates, machine cycle times, and associate performance.
- Review and manage running schedule plans to support on-time shipments.
- Track downtime by area and production line.
- Complete tool change reports and TPM data input from downtime sheets.
- Stock production lines and support workflow continuity.
- Step in for associate coverage during breaks as needed.
Other Functions:
- Interact with co-workers, customers, and outside vendors.
- Maintains clean working environment.
- Continuously seeks to improve processes.
- Promotes a safe working environment.
- Communicates with Associates and Asst. Mgr/Manager regarding production issues.
- Responsible and coordinates sort activity as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience- This Position requires one to two years of supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing facility, familiarity with PDCA, 5-S, and root cause analysis activities. Formal training in front-line leadership is preferred.
Skills: Position requires excellent interpersonal skills, computer software knowledge, the ability to effectively supervise and motivate industrial labor, proactively support the company's position on issue avoidance, enforce company policies and abide by applicable federal, state, and local employment laws
Working Conditions: Position requires the ability to type, bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive arm movements, lift up to 30 pounds, stand on concrete for extended periods of time, work mandatory overtime, and withstand temperatures up to 100 degrees.
