Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Possession of a valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate
- Meets Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or willingness to fulfill them within the designated timeframe
- Holds or is eligible to obtain the required DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) licensure for Alabama
- Background in providing instruction, support, and accommodations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an inclusive and collaborative approach
- Ability to develop individualized lesson plans and work closely with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and specialized support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum and classroom environments to foster student engagement, inclusivity, and success
- Collaborate with general educators, administrators, and other service providers to promote seamless learning experiences
- Advocate for the needs of hearing-impaired students within the school and community
