PRN | Home Health and Hospice
Schedule: PRN, providing coverage as needed. Hours approximately 8am–5pm, any day of the week. We'll work with your schedule as best we can while meeting the needs of our patients.
Position Summary
CNS is seeking a compassionate PRN Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support Home Health and Hospice patients throughout the greater St. George area. This role offers meaningful 1:1 care, greater autonomy, and the opportunity to work with a mix of adult and some pediatric patients.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly: Starting at $18.00+. We offer more hourly based on experience, education, and work history.
Mileage: $0.57/mile reimbursement for qualified travel

Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, and mobility support
- Assist patients with personal care and hygiene needs to maintain dignity and independence
- Support patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure comfort and safety
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to supervising RN
- Assist with light housekeeping duties related to patient care areas
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families
- Help with meal preparation and feeding assistance as needed
- Take and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
- Document care provided, ADL assistance, and patient observations accurately and timely
- Follow individualized care plans developed by the RN and care team
- Coordinate care with RNs, social workers, chaplains, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines
- Provide care within the scope of CNA practice and certification
Qualifications
- Current Utah CNA certification in good standing (or able to obtain upon hire)
- CPR/BLS certification required (or able to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Demonstrated experience providing ADL assistance and personal care support
- Home health or hospice experience preferred; pediatric experience a plus
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to caregiving
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the St. George area
- Valid driver's license and current auto insurance
- Ability to manage field-based caseload and flexible schedule
- Comfort working in diverse home environments
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients (up to 50 lbs frequently, more with assistance)
- Ability to drive throughout the St. George area and surrounding regions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
- Ability to navigate stairs and various home environments
- Physical stamina to provide hands-on patient care throughout the shift
