MelKay Refrigeration Technicians are represented by Local 136 and receive the wages and benefits provided under the applicable union agreement.
Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Journeyman and Master-Level Refrigeration Technicians to perform service, project work, and emergency response on commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with cold storage refrigeration rack systems and HVAC equipment commonly found in large retail grocery stores.
Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
- Perform project installation and startup work
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Participate in an on-call rotation and work overtime/weekends as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of HVACR experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of refrigeration rack experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Danfoss, Emerson CPC, and Novar control systems
- EPA Universal Certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
- Vanderburgh County Journeyman or Master Refrigeration License preferred

- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Job Details

- Pay: $27.00–$51.00 per hour, plus union benefits
- Expected Hours: 40+ per week
