Vehicle Acquisition Specialist Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, self-driven Used Car Buyer to join our growing automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring quality pre-owned vehicles from private sellers through a variety of online marketplaces and digital sourcing channels. Working closely with dealership management, you will assess vehicle values, negotiate purchases, and help grow our inventory while delivering a professional and positive experience for sellers.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the used vehicle market, enjoys negotiating, and wants to play a key role in building and expanding a successful vehicle acquisition program. As our acquisition efforts grow, this individual will also help develop processes and contribute to building a high-performing acquisition team.
Responsibilities
- Source quality pre-owned vehicles from private sellers using online marketplaces, digital lead sources, and other acquisition channels.
- Respond promptly to inbound and outbound acquisition leads.
- Work with dealership management to accurately appraise vehicles based on condition, market trends, vehicle history, and current market values.
- Negotiate vehicle purchases with independent sellers while maintaining profitability and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, title verification, and purchase documentation.
- Track acquisition opportunities and maintain organized records using dealership CRM and inventory management systems.
- Build relationships with private sellers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Monitor market trends and vehicle demand to identify acquisition opportunities.
- Collaborate with management to develop and improve acquisition strategies, processes, and performance.
- Assist in building and growing a successful vehicle acquisition team as the department expands.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in automotive sales, vehicle purchasing, appraisal, or inventory management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of used vehicle values, market trends, and vehicle conditions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple acquisition opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, online marketplaces, and basic computer applications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience sourcing vehicles from private-party sellers.
- Familiarity with vehicle valuation tools and vehicle history reports.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to help build a growing acquisition department.
- Goal-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed performance objectives
Pay: $3,000.00 - $10,000.00 per month
