MJC Land Development is actively looking for a quality Utility Estimator. Based in West Palm Beach, FL, MJC is a family owned and operated business that self performs a majority of sitework scopes including, but not limited to: Earthwork, Underground Utilities, Flatwork, Roadwork, & Paving. We are a rapidly growing company with a need to add quality personnel to grow along with the company. MJC offers the opportunity for professional advancement, as it is preferred to promote from within the company. In general, the Utility Estimator would read/interpret plans, perform takeoffs, secure pricing, & prepare an estimate all while taking relevant, details notes throughout the process. Staying organized and communicating with the team are important responsibilities of the position. Utility scopes include, but are not limited to: Storm Drainage, Watermain, Gravity Sewer, Lift Station, Force Main, Fire Line, etc.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating civil work.
- Ability to review and understand FDOT/municipal civil plans and be able to perform a detailed take-off
- Knowledge of FDOT/municipal standards, specs and details
- Understanding of how the work is completed in the field to be able to build crews within estimating software.
- Able to communicate with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing
- Organized and good work ethic, team player, open to ideas and good communication skills.
- Bid2Win/HCSS experience is required
- Experience reviewing CAD files
- Salary/package will be based on experience
