About Us
Lily Jack is a premier manufacturer of custom furniture for the hospitality industry, delivering high-quality, bespoke casegoods and upholstery to top-tier hotels, resorts, and restaurants worldwide. From our operations in Inglewood, California and Tijuana, Mexico, we bridge the gap between complex architectural design and scalable, high-volume production.
The Role
We are seeking a strategic, highly analytical Director of Costing & Quoting to lead our estimating function. You will own end-to-end pricing strategy — transforming intricate design intent, architectural drawings, and material specifications into precise, competitive, and profitable commercial bids.
Leading a team of estimators, you will partner closely with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and our production floor to ensure every quote is optimized for margin, manufacturing efficiency, and the client’s budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Team: Manage, train, and scale the estimating and quoting department.
- Refine Pricing: Build and maintain standardized databases for labor, material costs, and pricing matrices to ensure accurate profit margins.
- Value Engineering: Partner with engineering to suggest alternative materials or construction methods that save clients money without compromising design.
- Assess Risk: Review custom blueprints (complex finishes, upholstery, lighting integration) to catch manufacturing and cost issues before bidding.
- Coordinate Cross-Border Operations: Work with supply chain and production teams across both the Inglewood, CA and Tijuana, MX facilities.
What You Need to Succeed
- Experience: 7+ years in custom furniture cost estimation (hospitality/commercial casegoods and upholstery preferred).
- Leadership: 3+ years managing estimating or project management teams.
- Technical Skills: Expert at reading architectural blueprints, shop drawings, and CAD. Highly proficient in Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of custom furniture construction, material yields, and fabrication processes (CNC, assembly, finishing).
- Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus.
