What You Will Do
Ohio Lumex is seeking an experienced Assembly Technician II or III to support the manufacturing of environmental monitoring instruments, integrated analytical systems, and related assemblies. This hands-on position is responsible for the assembly, wiring, integration, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical, and mechanical systems using engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience in electromechanical manufacturing environments. Candidates may be hired at the Assembly Technician II or III level based on their experience, technical skills, and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex assemblies, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble instruments, integrated analytical systems, and subassemblies according to engineering documentation and production schedules
- Assemble, route, and terminate electrical wiring, harnesses, connectors, tubing, and pneumatic components
- Perform soldering of circuit boards, switches, connectors, cables, and electronic assemblies
- Assemble mechanical components and enclosures using hand and power tools
- Fabricate and modify panels, brackets, and mounting components from engineering drawings
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions
- Perform functional testing of assemblies in accordance with established procedures
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and other issues during assembly and testing
- Document test results, and production records accurately· Support prototype builds, engineering changes, and new product introductions
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or electromechanical assembly
- Experience assembling electrical control panels, instrumentation systems, or industrial equipment.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Experience performing soldering, wiring, and cable/harness assembly.
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Ability to lift/move material up to 40 pounds
- Must pass a criminal background check and random drug screenings
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree in a related field
- Familiarity with CNC machining and 3D printing
