Position Summary:
Bo-Mer Custom Manufacturing is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of custom thermoformed parts and tooling. While thermoforming is our core business, we also provide sheet metal fabrication and value added services to support customer projects and assemblies.
This position works closely with internal departments and customers to develop efficient manufacturing solutions from concept through production.
The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC programming, CAD design, and manufacturing processes, along with a willingness to be actively involved on the production floor.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal departments to produce custom thermoformed parts, tooling, and supporting fabricated components to customer specifications
- Program CNC equipment including: 3-axis and 5-axis routers, Lasers, and Machining centers
- Create CNC programs using MasterCAM and hand-written G-code as needed
- Use Solidworks to create part models, tooling files, and production/inspection drawings
- Maintain engineering documentation and records
- Create part and tooling estimates to support sales efforts
- Work directly with customers to achieve desired product outcomes
- Support production activities including machine setup, inspection, troubleshooting, and production runs as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-year technical degree in a related field or equivalent manufacturing experience
Required Skills:
- Solidworks proficiency
- Blueprint reading and drawing creation
- Experience using basic inspection equipment
Preferred Skills:
- MasterCAM experience
- Heavy gauge thermoforming knowledge
- CNC setup and operation experience
- Sheet metal fabrication experience
Work Environment:
This is a highly hands-on engineering role. Engineers at Bo-Mer are directly involved in production and problem-solving on the shop floor, not strictly office-based engineering work.
