LeRoy Cooperative in LeRoy, Kansas, is searching for a Feed Mill Manager. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with feed mill operations at the assigned location, and for promoting company and branch location employee cohesiveness through effective communication, teamwork, shared services, and by following safety policies and procedures. Position Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, training and supervision to the location’s feed mill operations employees.
- Ability to work at various times to successfully open and close the facility on a consistent basis and is available for evening and weekend peak seasonal activity.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of feed mill operations.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements related to feed mill and elevator operations. Complete all required paperwork including preventive maintenance (PM reports), OSHA and safety inspection forms.
- Communicate with the General Manager on all equipment breakdowns and repairs, and is responsible for cleaning, preventative maintenance, and repairs of equipment as qualified.
- Responsible for the timely service and maintenance of location vehicles and rolling stock to assure field fitness in order to maximize operating time
- This position is a working manager which means they must be able to perform management functions as well as perform routine duties of the location employees.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of facility, safety compliance with Cooperative, insurance company and government regulatory agency requirements
- Oversee all feed production processes, ensuring timely and accurate manufacturing to meet customer and livestock nutrition requirements.
- Monitor and maintain production schedules, inventory levels, and equipment to ensure efficient operations.
- Manage raw material procurement and coordinate with vendors to maintain quality and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly to minimize customer impact.
- Manage feed mill budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
- Analyze operational performance and provide regular reports to the General Manager.
- Works with patrons in custom formulation of feeds to fit their specific needs and supervises the manufacturing of formula feeds maintaining quality control of all feeds manufactured and /or processed.
- Supervises and checks perpetual inventory of antibiotics used in feed.
- Keep written records of investigation and action taken on all out of specification drug analysis and all customer complaints pertaining to medicated feed
- Ability to effectively manage time when working independently and/or with team members.
- Taking initiative to fulfill individual and team responsibilities.
- Effective communication skills by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management including business etiquette and the ability to listen to understand.

- Maintain and promote safety awareness, follow safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Work cooperatively with other locations to help ensure the Cooperative’s goals are met.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years feed mill experience is required
- A valid driver's license is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s license (Class A) if needed.
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions. This position may be exposed to various chemicals and grain dust. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
