Job Objective:
The Recreational Therapy Aide assists residents as they participate in a wide variety of therapeutic activities in group settings on a 1:1 basis or in the activity room.
Qualifications:
- Experience including work, volunteering or internship in health care related environment.
- Strong computer skills, excellent written/oral communication skill, ability to work independently.
- Must be 18yrs of age or older.
Responsibilities:
- Implements community outings including scheduling transportation, handling finances for and accompanying residents
- helps residents participate in all aspects of activities by giving clear directions/ aiding during activity
- leads activities and/or ensures staff has the supplies to conduct scheduled activities; assists new residents in adjusting to Skilled Nursing
- introduces new residents to others with similar interests; encourages resident to participate in activities
- promotes active participation of residents in programs using special events’ flyers, sign-up sheets, personal contact, etc.
