This position is non-exempt and hourly and is compensated based on the type of work performed:
- Contact Time (Direct Client Services): $32 – $40 per hour, based on experience
- Non-Contact Time (Non-Client Activities): $21 per hour
Non-contact time includes, but is not limited to:
documentation, report writing, preparation of therapy materials, meetings, training, and other administrative or clinic-related duties.
Paid cancellations are compensated at a separate rate and are paid above California minimum wage.
All compensation is paid in accordance with California wage and hour laws, including overtime where applicable.
Employment Classification
- Non-exempt, hourly position
- In-person role (remote work not available)
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs
- Overtime must be pre-approved by management and will be compensated in accordance with California law
Business Hours & Scheduling Requirements
- The clinic operates Monday through Saturday
- The clinic is closed on Sundays
- Saturday is a regular business day
Part-Time Requirement:
- Part-time employees must be available to work Saturdays
Scheduling, overtime, meal periods, rest periods, and any applicable premium pay will be administered in compliance with California labor laws.Position Overview
Mi Sueño Speech Therapy, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and dependable Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our clinical team. This role supports pediatric clients in a fast-paced private practice setting and works under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, in compliance with California SLPA regulations.
Cancellations are paid, and clinic scheduling is coordinated by administrative staff.
Schedule Options
Full-Time:
- 5 days per week, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, or
- 4/40 schedule (4 days, 10 hours per day, includes a Saturday)
Part-Time:
- 2–3 days per week, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, or
- 4 afternoons per week, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday availability required
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide speech and language therapy to pediatric clients under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Implement treatment plans using therapy materials, games, worksheets, charts, and computerized therapy programs
- Prepare and assist with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and software
- Complete documentation, progress notes, and reports during non-contact time
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree
- Certificate of completion from a CSHA-accredited SLPA program
Licensure:
- Valid California SLPA registration issued by the Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology Board (Required)
Additional Requirements:
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation
- Authorization to work in the United States
