Rushmore Transportation LTD is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for local and regional intermodal container work throughout the Chicago area and surrounding Midwest.

Dependable Equipment and Driver Support
Our equipment and support program includes:
- Well-maintained trucks
- Regular preventive maintenance and safety inspections

- Dispatch support when terminal, customer, or equipment issues arise
What You’ll Do
- Pick up and deliver intermodal containers between rail terminals, warehouses, distribution centers, container yards, and customer facilities
- Operate local and regional routes throughout Chicago and the surrounding Midwest
- Safely operate a tractor and intermodal chassis combination
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Inspect containers and chassis for visible damage or safety concerns
- Communicate pickup, delivery, delay, and equipment information to dispatch
- Submit delivery paperwork, interchange documents, and shipment records promptly
- Follow customer appointment times and rail-terminal procedures
- Properly document detention, delays, chassis issues, and service problems
- Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety requirements
- Represent Rushmore professionally at customer and terminal locations

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable Class A driving experience
- Intermodal container experience strongly preferred
- Current DOT medical card
- Ability to pass all required DOT drug and alcohol testing
- No serious driving violations within the previous three years
- Ability to safely operate a tractor and intermodal container combination
- Ability to pass a company road test
- Working mobile phone with reliable communication
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to meet the driver qualification requirements under 49 CFR §391.11
Preferred Experience
Experience with the following is helpful:
- Union Pacific Global IV in Joliet
- BNSF Logistics Park Chicago in Elwood
- Other Chicago-area BNSF terminals
- Norfolk Southern intermodal terminals
- Canadian National intermodal terminals
- Chicago-area container yards and warehouses
- Intermodal container and chassis inspections
- Local and regional Midwest deliveries
