Minimum Starting Rate: $16.0750-$17.6182/hour
Position Schedule: Daytime hours; will include some weekend shifts
This position performs general cleaning and laundry activities at the McLean County Nursing Home and follows an assigned cleaning schedule that helps ensure a clean and friendly environment for staff and residents.
Cleans and services wings rooms bathrooms and offices efficiently and safely.
Transfers clean wet linen from washer and place it in dryers.
Removes dry linens from dryer folds sorts and stacks linens on carts for redistribution to wings.
Perform other duties as required.
Ability to follow established departmental policies and procedures including appropriate dress code.
Ability to follow and complete cleaning schedules daily as assigned.
Maintain an atmosphere of warmth personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies equipment the appearance of work areas and perform regular inspections of the laundry area and equipment for sanitation order safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
Ability to work independently as well as with others
High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate; and some experience (0-1 year) with general housekeeping and laundry services; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above noted knowledge skills and abilities.

Work is performed in a nursing home involves exposure to body fluids, cleaning chemicals, and washing detergents. May involve contact with distraught or angry individuals. May include exposure and interaction with animals visiting the facility.
