Join our dynamic team as a Local/Regional Truck Driver and become a vital part of our logistics network! In this energetic role, you will operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, to deliver freight efficiently and safely within local and regional routes. Your expertise in navigating OTR (Over the Road) driving routes, handling hazardous materials, and managing logistics cargo will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks across designated local or regional routes.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of hazardous or dangerous goods in compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and adapt to traffic or road conditions for timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety standards are met; report any issues promptly.
- Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols during all phases of transportation.
- Deliver freight to customers efficiently while providing excellent customer service; communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or issues.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving within local or regional areas.
- Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling techniques.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning tools.
- Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely; experience operating forklifts or other lifting equipment is a plus.
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and safety standards related to truck driving.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized trucks such as roll-off or dump trucks is desirable.
- Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and professional conduct on the road.
