General Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient inventory management within a manufacturing/plant environment. This role supports production by maintaining optimal raw material, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory levels. The Inventory Planner works closely with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to prevent shortages, reduce excess inventory, and keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
· Maintain appropriate inventory levels for raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules
· Analyze production plans, forecasts, and historical usage to determine material requirements
· Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials
· Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accuracy within ERP systems
· Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, including cycle count and audit variances
· Track slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions
· Partner with production and operations teams to adjust inventory based on changing demand or production needs
· Support scheduling and planning efforts to align material availability with production timelines
· Generate and review inventory reports (stock levels, shortages, usage trends, and turnover)
· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and inventory control procedures
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field (preferred)
· 2+ years of experience in inventory planning, production planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
· Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
· Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large data sets
· Understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and production workflows
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree experience in Operations, Business, or related field preferred
· 2+ years of experience in inventory planning, production planning, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
· Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
· Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze large data sets
· Understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and production workflows
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
