Michigan Counseling Center (MCC) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and professional Receptionist to join our Taylor office. As the first point of contact for clients and families seeking mental health services, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and positive experience for every individual who reaches out for care.

What You'll Do
- Greet clients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with questions regarding services, appointments, and office procedures.
- Schedule new client consultations and ongoing therapy appointments.
- Verify insurance benefits and update client information.
- Assist clients with intake paperwork and required documentation.
- Manage provider schedules and appointment calendars.
- Process payments and collect copays when applicable.
- Maintain accurate records within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support daily office operations, including filing, scanning, and administrative tasks.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
QualificationsRequired
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service, receptionist, administrative, healthcare, or behavioral health experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy environment.
Preferred
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience in a counseling, healthcare, behavioral health, or social services setting.
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and behavioral health billing.
- Familiarity with HIPAA requirements.
