Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Facility Groundsman to join our team and help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our outdoor facilities. In this vital role, you will operate motorized vehicles to relocate, transfer and dispose of any equipment around the facility. Your proactive approach will ensure our grounds are environmentally compliant, safe for all visitors and staff, and visually appealing. Duties
- Operate machinery including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical functionality and safety compliance.
- Manage land activities by overseeing solid waste disposal processes in accordance with accordance.
- Handle recyclable materials with ensuring proper sorting, storage, and transportation to recycling centers.
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas through trash removal, relocation of equipment.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely during material handling activities while using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support environmental compliance by following procedures and recycling practices.
- Assist with outdoor maintenance activities such as loading/off loading, shop organizing, project clean up, obstruction clearing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating motor equipment such as forklifts. (Licensed)
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic maintenance checks on equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to sanitation operations and material handling equipment operation.
- Prior experience working with recyclable materials handling or landfill operations is preferred.
- Excellent physical stamina for outdoor work activities involving manual labor and heavy equipment operation.
