Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or van, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts as needed, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, maintaining punctuality and professionalism throughout each run.
- Interact courteously with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmation records.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy lifting, manual handling, and weight handling in the workplace to prevent injuries.
Skills
- Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with logistics operations is highly advantageous.
- Proven commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license suitable for box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, heavy lifting techniques, and safe lifting practices is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as moving packages .
- Familiarity with route driving, load & unload procedures, and moving goods efficiently within a distribution environment.
