Position Summary
This role is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving plant process performance while partnering closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to support safe, reliable, and efficient production. The engineer will develop expertise in assigned process units and maintain a broad understanding of adjacent manufacturing processes.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, or continuous process manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting C5 refining, olefins, monomer production, hydrocarbon processing, or related refinery/petrochemical operations strongly preferred
- Experience utilizing Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and process historians to monitor and optimize plant performance
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and EHS
- Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, including: Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), Mechanical Integrity, RAGAGEP compliance
- Experience leading or supporting capital projects from concept through startup (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environmental Support
- Provide technical support for process safety and risk management activities.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other risk assessment initiatives as required.
- Support compliance with applicable Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations and company standards.
- Assist with the safe handling and processing of hazardous and flammable chemical materials.
- Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability performance.
- Support compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements.
Technical Support
- Collaborate closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel to understand daily plant activities and challenges.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support for process and equipment issues within manufacturing operations.
- Analyze process data, operating trends, and control system information to optimize production performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, quality, and cost effectiveness.
Project Management
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize improvement and capital project opportunities.
- Lead projects from concept development through commissioning and startup.
- Develop business cases and technical justifications to support project approvals.
- Specify process design requirements and operating conditions for new or modified equipment.
- Ensure projects comply with recognized engineering standards and industry best practices.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and required hazard reviews prior to implementation.
- Measure and communicate project results and business impact.
Quality Management
- Support quality investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action efforts.
- Maintain and update operating procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate raw material and finished product qualification trials as required.
- Support continuous improvement of product quality and manufacturing consistency.

Pay: $102,249.95 - $123,139.72 per year
Work Location: In person
