Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics by handing instruments and maintaining a clear field.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as digital X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like OpenDental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Perform chairside assisting by monitoring vital signs, applying aseptic techniques, and providing support during complex procedures such as root canals or crown placements.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions related to dental terminology and procedures.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team to optimize patient flow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
- Proficiency in OpenDental software for managing medical records and documentation.
- Familiarity with infection control procedures, aseptic techniques, and sterilization methods to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Experience with chairside assisting in pediatric dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics is preferred.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
