Exceptional internal medicine care requires advanced technical skill, critical thinking, thoughtful systems, and deep compassion. At Timberline, we believe every role on our team contributes meaningfully to patient outcomes and client experience.
We are seeking an Internal Medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician to help support and grow our internal medicine service. This role is a steady, skilled presence within the department, supporting patients with complex and chronic medical conditions, empowering clients through clear communication, and collaborating closely with veterinarians and hospital leadership to deliver thorough, evidence-based, and timely care.
As part of the internal medicine team, you will contribute to workflow refinement, department organization, and the continued growth of a cohesive, high-performing internal medicine service.
What You’ll Do:

Support the organization, and daily operations of the internal medicine service.

Assist the Internal Medicine doctor with advanced diagnostics and procedures.

Perform pre-exams, obtain patient histories, vital signs, diagnostics, and lab samples.

Perform treatments and administer medication under the direction and supervision of the veterinarian, following all safety and handling protocols.

Monitor patients during and after treatments and report changes promptly.

Anesthetize and monitor patients for procedures or imaging as needed.

Provide skilled nursing care for complex and chronic patients.

Maintain accurate medical records in Instinct and prepare treatment sheets.

Fill prescriptions and coordinate follow-up appointments.

Provide clear, compassionate client education and support.

Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding patient care plans

Collaborate closely with assistants, technicians, and doctors to ensure excellent workflow and patient outcomes.

Collaborate with veterinarians, hospital leadership, and cross-functional teams.

Mentor and support team members and participate in ongoing training.

Participate in required meetings and model Timberline’s PEAK Principles.
What We’re Looking For:

Active WA State LVT license.

Strong technical and nursing skills.

Interest or experience in Internal Medicine or specialty medicine preferred.

Commitment to patient and team safety and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits:

Hourly compensation is based on experience and skill level ($33 – $45/hr).

This position is part-time, working 2 days a week (Thursday and Friday) with the option of working in the Blood Bank, Oncology or ER department one to two days a week for a full-time role.

Shift differentials apply for overnight and weekend shifts in addition to hourly rates.
