Job Summary
Belmont Engineered Plastics is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer specializing in plastics within the automotive and safety industries. This position is responsible for working with Operations, Engineering, and direct customer contact to meet the quality requirements and standards for our customers.
Duties
- Work actively and safely on the production floor to solve quality issues
- Lead the team on non-conformance resolutions, continuous improvement initiatives, and production quality issues.
- Perform root cause analysis
- Collaborate with Program Managers regarding engineering changes and specifications, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans and any applicable Work Instructions
- Assist the Quality Manager with internal and external quality audits and coordinate customer audits and third-party certifications.
- Must be able to perform inspection and testing and have the ability to identify process and/or material issues
Experience/Qualifications
- Proven experience in a quality engineering role within plastics manufacturing or automotive sectors.
- Experience using basic measurement devices - calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc..
- Experience using customer portals to log and retrieve data
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to take ownership of issues.
- Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as PDCA, 8D, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to communicate with customers and various departments within Belmont Engineered Plastics to ensure adherence on all aspects to meet the customer's quality requirements.
- College Degree or equivalent
- Three - Five (3-5) years of experience in a quality engineering role within the manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of automotive quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
