Hiring Teacher Assistants for Early Childhood and Elementary Classrooms!

Key Responsibilities:
● Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
● Assist in setting up the classroom and maintaining its orderliness and cleanliness.
● Assist in packing up the classroom at the end of the year.
● Provide individual and small group instruction to students as directed by the classroom teacher.
● Support the classroom teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
● Assist the teacher in implementing ZJA’s positive Behavior Policy by reinforcing the teacher's expectations and classroom rules, promoting positive behavior and clear expectations.
● Monitor the classroom, gently address disruptions, and provide needed support to students, ultimately creating a more positive and focused learning environment.
● Help students to stay on task and assist them with focus and redirection, as needed.
● Support development of students’ social and emotional skills, which can lead to better academic and personal outcomes.
● Help prepare instructional materials and set up classroom activities.
● Monitor and interact with students during classroom activities, recess, and other school events as needed.
● Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and transitions between classes.
● Assist in organizing (setting up, ordering items, etc) and participating in school events.
● Communicate professionally with teachers, students, and parents.
● Perform other related duties as directed by the classroom teacher or school administration.
● Observe and document student behavior while the teacher is teaching.
● Contribute to the team by providing feedback and insights into students’ needs and challenges, and help the teacher develop effective strategies to support students.
Education and Experience
● High school diploma required, Undergraduate or Seminary degree preferred
Pay: $30,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
