We are hiring a CNC Mold Maker Journeyman, experience required. Wage is based on experience.

A CNC Mold Maker Journeyman fabricates, repairs and maintains high precision
tooling using CNC machinery (Mills & Lathes), manual mill, lathes, grinders and CAD/CAM software. The Mold Maker will interpret technical drawings to program, set-up and operate equipment to exacting tolerances, while trouble shooting and performing routine tool room maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program, set-up and operate CNC machines and manual equipment to produce mold components (cavity work, cores and slides).
- Collaborate with machining department, quality department, and tooling department and assist, when applicable, other mold makers and CNC machinists and operators, through teaching and training levels of expertise.
- Collaborate with engineering to review designs, blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions and determine how to implement the work to be performed including materials and commercial items required and machines to be used to manufacture the product. Create requisitions for materials needed and purchase them.
- Calculate dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly and manufacturing method and sequence of operations to produce the parts.
- Assemble, fit and troubleshoot new and customer furnished molds to insure proper function and KCI mold spec compliance.
- Disassemble, clean, repair and polish existing molds to maintain proper function.
- Lift machined parts and position and secure parts on surface plate or worktable.
- Smooth flat and contoured surfaces and power grinders, and fit and assemble parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances. Responsible for quality of product being machined. Utilize precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect components against blueprints.
- Heat treat tools or parts; create heat treat requisitions for any product that must be heat treated outside of plant.
- Connect wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components or sensors.
- Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
- Develop specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draw or sketch design of product.
- Quote and estimate new molds, engineering changes of molds, fixtures for both the mold department and machining department, gages, and any other items needed for pricing.
- Review mold concepts with Engineers to help determine the function of the mold and if the mold is being manufactured according to KCI mold specifications.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
* High school diploma or GED required.
· 5 - 10 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
