We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. This role will involve providing comprehensive secretarial support to our litigation team, ensuring smooth case progression and efficient administrative processes. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of litigation processes, legal terminology, and case management. This is a permanent, full-time position.
Responsibilities
As a Litigation Legal Secretary, your responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing, editing, and formatting legal documents and correspondence, including briefs, pleadings, and subpoenas.
2. Managing attorney calendars and scheduling appointments, meetings, depositions, and court dates.
3. E-filing documents with the California State Court and Federal Court.
4. Assisting with discovery, including organizing and tracking documents, drafting responses, and managing deadlines.
5. Transcribing legal documents and correspondence.
6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date legal records and case files.
7. Providing general administrative support to attorneys, including answering phones, managing mail, and ordering supplies.
8. Utilizing legal software to streamline and automate processes.
9. Assisting with case management, including tracking deadlines and ensuring timely progression of cases.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Litigation Legal Secretary role will have:
1. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a legal secretary, preferably in litigation.
2. Proficiency in e-filing with both the California State Court and Federal Court.
3. Strong understanding of legal procedures, terminology, and document preparation.
4. Experience with discovery, deposition, and deadline management.
5. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage large volumes of information and meet tight deadlines.
6. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to draft and edit legal correspondence and documents.
7. Proficiency in legal transcription.
8. Experience with legal software and case management systems.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and respect at all times.
10. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
11. Knowledge of legal records management and legal briefs preparation.
