About Us: Onion City is a a fast-paced, locally-owned restaurant from the Misery Loves Co. Family. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality food and excellent hospitality to our guests. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our supportive kitchen team, anchoring dinner service 4-5 nights a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies.
- Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely manner.
- Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
- Assist with inventory management and report any shortages or issues.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to improve food quality and efficiency.
- Adhere to portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and kitchen sanitation standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, days, weekends, and holidays.
