Behavioral Assistant (BA) – Youth Mental Health Services
Peaceful Minds Therapy Center is seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Behavioral Assistants (BAs) to provide behavioral and supportive services to children and adolescents in the community.
The Behavioral Assistant will work directly with youth and families to support the development of positive behaviors, coping skills, social skills, and daily living skills. The BA will collaborate with the treatment team and follow individualized treatment plans developed for each youth.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one behavioral support to children and adolescents.
- Implement interventions and strategies outlined in the youth’s individualized treatment plan.
- Support youth in developing coping, communication, social, and problem-solving skills.
- Assist youth in managing behaviors and improving emotional regulation.
- Provide services in community-based settings, including the home and other appropriate locations.
- Maintain professional communication with families, caregivers, and members of the treatment team.
- Document services accurately and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA and agency policies.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and required training.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every youth served.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in psychology, social work, education, behavioral health, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral or mental health needs is preferred.
- Must demonstrate strong communication, patience, reliability, and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
- Must be able to complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Must meet all applicable requirements for behavioral assistants providing services through the agency.
