Job Summary

Duties
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Prepare animals for surgery, including administering medications, IV insertions, catheterizations, and monitoring anesthesia under supervision
- Perform animal care tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas
- Support or perform laboratory work, sample collection, and processing diagnostic tests
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medication administration, and laboratory results following aseptic techniques and veterinary terminology standards
- Help manage front desk responsibilities including client check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and answering client inquiries with professionalism
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to uphold safety protocols during all procedures
Requirements
- Proven kennel experience along with strong animal care skills in a veterinary or pet care setting
- Prior veterinary technician or assistant experience with familiarity in surgical assistance, medication administration, and laboratory procedures
- Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, restraint techniques, and veterinary terminology
- Experience handling dogs and other animals safely using humane restraint methods
- Ability to perform IV insertions, catheterizations, and aseptic techniques accurately
- Strong communication skills for front desk duties and client interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
