Located in the heart of Upcountry Maui, our restaurant has earned a loyal following among locals, visitors, and food enthusiasts from around the world. Known for exceptional hospitality, innovative island cuisine, and a commitment to quality, HGS has become a landmark in Hawaiʻi's culinary landscape.

The Opportunity
As Executive Chef, you'll oversee every aspect of the culinary operation while preserving the restaurant's reputation and helping define its next chapter.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Develop and evolve seasonal menus that showcase Hawaiʻi's exceptional ingredients while honoring the restaurant's legacy.
- Build relationships with Maui's incredible farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and local producers.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a talented back-of-house team.
- Foster a positive, professional culture built on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, execution, and sanitation.
- Collaborate with ownership and leadership on the restaurant's long-term culinary vision.
- Manage food costs, labor, purchasing, inventory, and operational performance while maintaining exceptional guest experiences.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is an accomplished culinary leader who understands that great restaurants are built through exceptional food, strong leadership, and an outstanding team culture.
Qualifications include:
- Executive Chef experience in upscale casual, fine dining, luxury resort, or destination restaurants.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing people.
- Excellent financial acumen, including food cost, labor management, and inventory control.
- Experience creating seasonal, ingredient-driven menus.
- Calm, organized leadership during high-volume service.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
Experience in Michelin-recognized restaurants, James Beard-caliber kitchens, luxury hospitality, or nationally recognized independent restaurants is highly valued but not required.
