The Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction, fostering student learning and success, and supporting the mission of the College through excellence in teaching, academic advising, curriculum development, assessment, and institutional service. The Instructor teaches assigned courses in accordance with approved curriculum, accreditation standards, and College policies while creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes student achievement and workforce readiness.
POSTING DATE: JULY 14, 2026
SALARY: Based on education and experience commensurate with Salary Schedule D1 IA for 9 months (range: $46,590 - $72,709). Higher education could earn placement on a higher salary schedule.
Additional salary for summer employment (D1 IA for 3 months, $14,384 - $22,488). Summer employment is contingent upon student enrollment and the needs of the College. Higher education could earn placement on a higher salary schedule.

This position will be based initially at Wallace in Dothan, Alabama.

Instruction and Student Learning

Teach assigned courses using instructional methods that promote student engagement, critical thinking, and achievement of course and program learning outcomes.

Prepare and deliver instruction in classroom, laboratory, clinical, online, hybrid, or other instructional settings as appropriate.

Develop and maintain course syllabi, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments consistent with approved curriculum and institutional standards.

Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Criminal Justice is required.

Three years of successful full-time work experience as a practitioner in the field is required.

Experience incorporating multi-media instructional techniques into curricula, including instructional technology for web-based teaching and course management utilizing the Canvas platform, is preferred.
Experience inspiring and facilitating learning with diverse student populations is preferred.
ADVISORY COMMITTEE: The President will appoint an Advisory and Interview Committee to include representatives of the College faculty and staff. This committee will employ appropriate procedures, including the review of application packets, interviews, and demonstration of competency, to determine which applicants are to be recommended to the President for further consideration. From all the applications received, an advisory committee will select the applicants to be interviewed.
