The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all beverage operations throughout the club, including restaurants, bars, banquet events, golf, pool, and special events. The Beverage Manager works closely with the Food & Beverage Director, Special Event Department, and Accounting to deliver a first-class beverage program that enhances the member experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of all club beverage outlets.
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and service standards.
- Develop and maintain beverage menus, cocktail programs, wine lists, and specialty offerings.
- Coordinate beverage service for tournaments, weddings, member events, and private functions.
- Monitor product quality and freshness throughout all outlets.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Order beer, wine, liquor, mixers, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Conduct monthly beverage inventories.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and timely submission of reports.
- Manage relationships with beverage vendors
- Verify invoices and ensure proper receiving procedures.
Financial Management
- Control beverage cost percentages through proper purchasing and inventory management.
- Analyze sales reports and beverage cost reports.
- Recommend pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Monitor pour costs and implement cost-control measures.
Wine Program
- Develop and maintain an wine program.
- Select wines that complement the club's dining experience.
- Coordinate wine dinners, tastings, and member education events.
- Maintain proper wine storage and cellar organization.
- Train staff on wine service and pairings.
Member Service
- Build positive relationships with members and guests.
- Resolve member concerns professionally and promptly.
- Anticipate member preferences and personalize service.
- Maintain a welcoming, professional atmosphere throughout all beverage outlets.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol regulations.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of alcoholic beverages.
- Monitor responsible alcohol service practices.
- Maintain proper licensing and documentation.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing records.
- Review and approve beverage invoices.
- Participate in department meetings and management planning.
- Assist in developing club beverage policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of beverage experience, preferably in a private club, country club, resort, or upscale hospitality environment.
- Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and craft cocktails.
- Understanding of inventory management and beverage cost control.
- Experience with point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and climb stairs.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
