The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, maintaining workplace safety,
supporting quality standards, and leading employees within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role
focuses on improving operational efficiency, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring company procedures
are consistently followed while building a productive and team-oriented workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture by ensuring all employees follow workplace safety procedures and
regulations.
- Provide direction and support to production personnel regarding productivity, quality, and operational performance.
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to monitor workflow, answer questions, and address concerns.
- Conduct safety inspections and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Review production schedules, work orders, and delivery timelines to plan daily operations effectively.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities to meet production targets and quality expectations.
- Analyze operational reports and resolve manufacturing, equipment, or maintenance issues that may affect
productivity.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to verify proper performance and maximize efficiency.
- Develop, update, and enforce operating procedures and workplace standards.
- Maintain production records, reports, and documentation.
- Supervise production employees by assigning work, monitoring performance, and supporting employee
development.
- Assist with employee onboarding, coaching, discipline, and performance evaluations in partnership with Human
Resources.
- Address workplace concerns and help resolve employee issues in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in manufacturing, operations, or industrial leadership.
- At least 4 years of supervisory or management experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, equipment, and production processes.
- Experience implementing workplace policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining productivity and quality expectations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience working in fast-paced industrial environments with changing priorities.
