Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with experience in restaurant management and team leadership. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. This position requires excellent cooking skills, creativity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends.
- Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food handling practices, and sanitation standards.
- Assist in training new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety protocols, and restaurant policies.
- Oversee shift management to ensure efficient workflow and timely service during peak hours.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Participate in the dietary department’s initiatives to accommodate special dietary needs of guests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook or Sous Chef in a restaurant or food service setting.
- Strong knowledge of menu planning, food handling procedures, and culinary techniques.
- Experience in restaurant management with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.
- Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a busy environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and cost control measures is preferred.
