Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment using proper food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients to support chefs and cooks.
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors, counters, sinks, and storage spaces through regular cleaning routines.
- Support food handling and food safety management practices by adhering to hygiene standards and safety protocols.
- Help with bussing tables and clearing dining areas during service to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist in catering and banquet setups by preparing necessary items and ensuring timely cleanup after events.
Experience
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and general kitchen cleaning practices.
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of food handling standards are advantageous.
- Experience in food preparation or catering environments is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior exposure to hotel or culinary environments can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
