Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our construction firm. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, and compliance across various financial operations. Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including recording journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct account reconciliations, including account analysis and general ledger reconciliation, to verify the integrity of financial data.
- Support payroll processing, tax preparation, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.
- Assist with budgeting activities and provide detailed account analysis to support financial decision-making.
- This is a construction firm so there may be a little light labor involved from time to time.
Requirements
- 5-10+ years experience in accounting or finance.
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or similar platforms.
- Extremely well organized along with a passion for problem solving without assistance from others.
- Strong Analytical Thinker with excellent communication skills while valuing personal and professional integrity.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Good at budgeting and finance with strong time manangement skills.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis efficiently.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including journal entries, general ledger management, and account reconciliation.
- Excellent understanding of debits & credits, financial concepts, and financial report writing skills.
- Able to take accountability for errors while having a passion for learning.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, tax experience, accounts payable/receivable management, and budget preparation.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
