Aviva Senior Living is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Resident Assistant, or Caregiver to join our senior living community in Valparaiso, Indiana.
This is a full time overnight CNA / Resident Assistant position working 10pm to 6am. The successful candidate will provide hands-on assistance and compassionate care to senior living residents, including support with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, mobility, transfers, hygiene, memory care, social activities, and daily routines.

We are currently hiring a full time CNA / Resident Assistant / Caregiver for our 10pm to 6am overnight shift.
Please note that shift assignments may change throughout employment based on community and resident care needs, with appropriate notice.
The CNA / Resident Assistant will provide hands-on resident care and assistance while promoting safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
- Safely assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist residents with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, dressing, and other personal care needs
- Safely assist residents with transfers, mobility, positioning, and ambulation
- Provide compassionate assistance to residents with daily routines and personal care
- Support residents with memory care needs and cognitive impairments
- Provide appropriate memory care stimulation and meaningful activities
- Encourage social interaction, engagement, and participation in community activities
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and social support to residents
- Observe residents and promptly report changes in physical condition, behavior, mood, or overall well-being
- Monitor and document resident observations, vital signs, leisure activities, incidents, and other required information
- Complete accurate resident documentation in accordance with community policies and procedures
- Complete all required documentation by the end of each shift
- Follow resident care schedules and routines established by supervisors
- Follow individualized resident care needs and assigned care plans
- Maintain resident safety and report safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Assist with meals and safely handle and serve food in accordance with community policies and applicable regulations
- Maintain a clean, professional, and safe environment for residents
- Follow all community policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Communicate professionally with residents, families, healthcare providers, third-party providers, community leaders, supervisors, and coworkers
- Protect resident privacy and confidentiality
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Perform other resident care and support duties as assigned by the supervisor
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to safely assist senior residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Ability to communicate professionally and appropriately with residents, families, healthcare providers, community leaders, and coworkers
- Ability to work with elderly and senior residents in a courteous, respectful, and friendly manner
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help seniors
- Ability to work calmly and professionally in a senior living environment
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Ability to safely handle food in accordance with community policies and applicable state and federal regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable state regulations and senior care requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred
- One year of related healthcare, senior care, caregiving, assisted living, memory care, or long-term care experience preferred
- Previous experience as a CNA, Resident Assistant, Caregiver, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Direct Care Worker is beneficial
- Experience working with residents with memory impairments, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive conditions is beneficial
- Previous experience in assisted living, senior living, memory care, skilled nursing, long-term care, or healthcare is beneficial
