Santiago Marrero Law, PLLC is a boutique federal immigration law firm seeking an experienced contract immigration attorney to serve as appearance counsel for EOIR hearings conducted by Webex.
This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney who enjoys court appearances but prefers not to manage cases, draft motions, or handle client communication.
Scope of Work
* Appear at EOIR Master Calendar Hearings via Webex
* Appear at select Bond Hearings
* Follow detailed attorney-prepared hearing outlines and case strategy
* Request continuances or make routine procedural arguments as instructed
* Immediately communicate any unexpected developments with lead counsel
* Prepare a brief post-hearing summary
Lead counsel will handle:
* Case strategy
* Legal research
* Motion practice
* Client communication
* Evidence preparation
* Follow-up after hearings
Qualifications
* Active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and authorized to practice federal immigration law
* Immigration court experience required
* Comfortable appearing before EOIR judges via Webex
* Professional courtroom demeanor
* Strong attention to detail
* Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace
* Ability to follow established litigation strategy
Compensation
Flat fee per appearance. Rates depend on the type and complexity of the hearing. There is also potential for block scheduling when multiple hearings are set on the same docket.
