The IT Intern supports day-to-day technology operations through technical troubleshooting, end-user support, system documentation, cybersecurity activities, and project coordination. This role works closely with the Director of Information Technology to maintain reliable systems, strengthen internal processes, and support the company’s ongoing technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support and Troubleshooting
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, access, and connectivity issues across various systems and devices.
- Provide end-user support for common technology-related issues.
- Monitor IT ticket queues and follow up on open requests.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate team member when necessary.
System and Network Administration
- Support routine maintenance of operating systems, cloud applications, and network tools.
- Assist with user account setup, permissions management, password resets, and software installations.
- Follow established security protocols to support data protection and system integrity.
- Assist with maintaining accurate technology inventory and access records.
Technical Documentation
- Create and update internal documentation, including user guides, instructions, and IT procedures.
- Document IT assets, system configurations, and troubleshooting processes.
- Help ensure technology records remain current, accurate, and accessible.
Cybersecurity and Compliance
- Support cybersecurity activities, including software updates, patch management, and device monitoring.
- Assist with data security, access control, and incident response activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Help monitor compliance with internal IT policies and maintain audit-ready records.
- Promptly report suspected security concerns or unusual system activity.
IT Projects and Collaboration
- Contribute to departmental projects such as system upgrades, migrations, device deployments, and new technology implementations.
- Participate in team meetings and assist with the planning and coordination of IT initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members to test, implement, and support technology solutions.
- Assist with additional IT projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Salesforce Support, If Applicable
- Assist with basic Salesforce platform support and administrative tasks.
- Support CRM navigation, user assistance, data maintenance, and basic reporting activities.
- Help document Salesforce workflows and create user training materials.
