Position Summary
Fulton Gardens Post Acute is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and energetic Part-Time Activity Assistant to join our team. The Activity Assistant helps plan, organize, and implement engaging recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with seniors, is creative, dependable, and passionate about creating meaningful experiences that promote resident well-being and social engagement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and conducting daily activity programs for residents.
- Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities.
- Lead games, crafts, music, exercise programs, holiday celebrations, and special events.
- Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
- Document resident attendance and participation.
- Assist with decorating for seasonal events and facility celebrations.
- Support community outings and special programs.
- Maintain activity supplies and equipment.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
- Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and resident rights guidelines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in activities, recreation, customer service, healthcare, or working with seniors is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and positive attitude.
- Ability to push wheelchairs, assist with activity setup, and remain active throughout the shift.
