Responsibilities
- Prepare and operate cardiopulmonary bypass equipment with precision, ensuring optimal functioning during surgical procedures.
- Collect and analyze data related to patient vitals, blood flow, and oxygenation levels to support clinical decision-making.
- Manage inventory of perfusion supplies and DME (durable medical equipment), maintaining accurate records and controlling stock levels.
- Autotransfusion services for any surgical procedure.
- Monitor patient vital signs continuously, adjusting perfusion parameters as needed to maintain stability.
- Follow strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during procedures.
- Concise, clear communication with surgical teams.
- Document all procedures meticulously, including analysis of data collected and any medication or injection administration performed.
This position is 100% on-site and employee must report to work at one of five hospitals in Los Angeles/Glendale, CA when scheduled. Work hours and on-site days may be subject to change depending on business needs.
Experience
- Minimum Field of Expertise: Graduation from accredited perfusion training program, certified or certification-eligible by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion, current CPR/BCLS, knowledge of universal precautions.
- Experience working within a hospital setting or acute care environment as a perfusionist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and sterile processing techniques.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) is required or preferred.
