Security Officer – Loading Dock / Construction Site
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: 3 days per week | 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week
Additional Hours: Opportunities for overtime
Days: Specific workdays will be discussed during the interview
Assignment Length: Long-term assignment, expected to last approximately 18+ months
Must have an Active SORA License
Position Overview
We are seeking reliable and professional Security Officers for a long-term assignment at a commercial property with ongoing construction. Officers will primarily be stationed around the loading dock and elevator areas, helping maintain a safe and secure environment while construction is taking place on apartments above the commercial space.
This position is ideal for candidates who are comfortable working around an active loading dock and construction-related environment and can remain alert and professional throughout a 12-hour shift.
Responsibilities
Monitor and control access to designated areas of the property
Maintain a visible security presence around the loading dock and elevator areas
Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, or unauthorized access
Monitor contractors, deliveries, and other activity entering and exiting designated areas
Conduct routine patrols as assigned
Maintain accurate daily activity and incident reports
Communicate professionally with property management, contractors, employees, visitors, and security personnel
Follow all site-specific security procedures and post orders
Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
Qualifications
Must be reliable, punctual, and professional
Strong communication and observation skills
Ability to remain alert during extended shifts
Comfortable working in and around an active loading dock/construction environment
Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods as required
Previous security experience preferred
Must meet all applicable licensing and employment requirements
