The successful candidate will possess a strong background in cardiovascular sonography and a passion for teaching. This role involves providing comprehensive practical instruction and hands-on training to students, preparing them for successful careers as cardiovascular sonographers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead lab sessions and hands-on training for Cardiovascular Sonography students.
- Demonstrate and teach the use of cardiovascular ultrasound equipment and techniques.
- Create and implement lab activities that complement the curriculum and meet learning objectives.
- Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to facilitate their development.
- Ensure a safe and efficient lab environment, maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Work with faculty to integrate lab and didactic instruction.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in cardiovascular sonography.
- Assist in the creation and updating of lab manuals and instructional resources.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and program-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in cardiovascular sonography.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Cardiovascular Sonography.
- Associate’s degree in a related field; bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
- Strong communication and teaching skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to fostering student success and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in a cardiovascular sonography program.
- Proficiency in various cardiovascular sonography specialties (e.g., echocardiography, vascular sonography).
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements for sonography programs.
