Summary
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAC) is responsible for providing care to the residents. CNAs will provide professional nursing care and activities of daily living in accordance with the plan of care and all applicable state licensure and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Assist residents with daily personal hygiene care, including but not limited to: bathing or showering, grooming, shaving, nail care, dressing and undressing, oral hygiene, skin care, and toileting.
- Turn, reposition, and transfer residents between bed and wheelchair. Provide mobility support; assist with range of motion exercises.
- Perform hourly safety checks.
- Perform vitals as instructed by nursing staff; measure temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.
- Document care in the residents’ medical records. Report changes in conditions or other issues to the nurse.
- Perform housekeeping, including but not limited to: wash dishes, launder clothing and bedding, prepare meals, assist with feeding, complete house tasks including cleaning and disinfection of high touch surfaces at least once per shift and as needed.
- Assist with emergencies and safety instructions for residents.
- Interact with residents in a positive and supportive way; support plan of care goals.
- Adhere to HIPAA and all state and federal medical privacy laws.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Certificate from CNA training program
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification with WA State Department of Health
- Must pass a State and Federal Background Check, including fingerprints
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Must maintain current vehicle insurance
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR
- Current Food Handler’s Permit or within 30 days of hire
- Proof of licensing required vaccinations
- Abuse Prevention Systems Sexual Abuse Awareness Training within one year of hire
- DDA Developmental Disabilities Specialty Training within one year of hire
- Behavior Management Training within 60 days of hire
- Must acquire and provide proof of 30 hours of CEUs per year
Work Environment
This role operates in a home health care facility. The position requires flexibility and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Share on call duties on a rotating schedule. Per Diem status will be expected to be available for 4 shifts per month. The environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other potential hazards. Nursing staff must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and follow strict guidelines to protect self and residents from infectious disease; use proper lifting techniques at all times and pursue help as needed.
Physical Demands
Position requires full range of motion. Must be able to walk, bend, stretch, lift and stand; able to grasp and use fine eye-hand coordination; able to recognize and respond to smells; see colors; able to lift 40 pounds; able to operate a car safely.
Pay: $21.84 - $34.94 per hour
