American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in a Respiratory Therapy/Cardiopulmonary unit at a hospital in Kingwood, TX.

419-bed acute care hospital setting in Kingwood, TX

Respiratory Therapy/Cardiopulmonary unit with a team of 48 staff
-
Night shift staffing includes 1 Lead RT, 6–8 staff RTs, and 1 EKG tech
-
Patient ratio of 1:10–15 on first rounds
-
Common procedures include arterial punctures, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and non-invasive ventilation
-
Equipment used includes V60 BiPAP, Vapotherm, Avea & Hamilton ventilators, and EPOC ABG analyzers
-
EMR: MEDITECH
-
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)

13-week contract
-
Active RRT license and certification required (license required if applicable)
-
Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience; allied candidates must have at least 6 months of experience within the last 6 months

Strong patient assessment skills required

Ability to perform treatment procedures as ordered by a physician

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

NRP and PALS certifications preferred

Critical care experience preferred

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Perform respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as ordered by the physician
-
Conduct patient assessments across a general respiratory therapy caseload
-
Work alongside a Lead RT and a team of 6–8 staff RTs and an EKG tech on the night shift
-
Pewter scrubs required
