Qualifications:
- Must meet DCYF requirements as outlined in WAC 110-300-0100 for Director / Assistant Director
- Minimum of an associate degree in early childhood education or a related education field
- Two years experience as a teacher in a licensed childcare facility
- Leadership experience in directly managing a team with an emphasis on staff retention, staff professional development, and performance management
- Proficient computer and desktop publishing skills, including but not limited to Microsoft office
- The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Strong attendance record (ex. no more than 3 unexcused absences in 90 days)
- "World class" customer service towards children and parents
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director is part of a Leadership Team that supports the school in overseeing all aspects of daily operations including superior customer service, staff retention, schedule support, classroom management, performance management, and other items. Duties include but not limited to:
- Maintain exceptional relationships with enrolled families through excellent verbal and written “follow-through” communication
- Ensure that classrooms are well cared for and presentable for teaching from a health and safety perspective.
- Uphold health and safety standards set forth by DCYF Child Care Licensing and Leadership Team
- Help solve daily staff shortages and be willing to “fill the shoes” of a teacher in a classroom if all other delegating options have been maximized
- Staff management including daily scheduling, performance management and staff discipline
Kiddie Academy Salmon Creek is open Monday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm (closed weekends). We are located at 2203 NE 129th Street Vancouver, WA 98686
