American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring telemetry and cardiac care experience with night shift availability.

Work in a Cardiac and Medical PCU functioning as a true ICU stepdown unit in a short-term acute care hospital with 194 staffed beds
-
Patient population includes cardiac cases such as heart catheterizations, BiPAP, and patients requiring vasoactive drips (e.g., Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, Amio)

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30

Weekend availability required

Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required

No on-call required
-
Charting is performed in Cerner (experience required)

Travel pairs are not accepted for this position

Parking is free

Active Indiana (IN) or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted

Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS (AHA or RQI accepted); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred

Minimum 18 months of RN experience required

Hands-on experience with telemetry, IV starts, cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen required
-
Prior experience in a Level I, II, III, or IV facility required
-
Vent management, charge nurse experience, and conscious sedation experience preferred

Cerner EMR experience required

Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required

Two supervisor professional references required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract

Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved

Current or former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler

Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility: out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break
