Shine Behavioral LLC is a leading multi-disciplinary ABA center specializing in the early intervention care of children on the Autism Spectrum. At Shine Behavioral Academy our school, it is our mission to support children with ASD. The Academy is a Not-For-Profit private school for children with autism. We are looking for an energetic and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team! The Academy caters to students in grades K-6.
Shine Behavioral Academy is seeking an experienced, Special Education Teacher to help spearhead our mission of providing the best education possible for children with Autism and other developmental delays in grades K – 6. Shine Behavioral Academy offers a full elementary curriculum and additional medical services such as Speech & Language therapy and Occupational Therapy. These therapies can be provided through our partner Shine Behavioral LLC right next door! Our program is a year-round educational program serving children who are both verbal & non-verbal.

We are looking for an Educator who not only is a candidate with the classroom experience but also is an individual excited to learn the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and collaborate with multiple professionals focused on those with Autism with the common goal of getting them the very best start in life possible!
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for all curriculum oversight and distribution, initial student evals and IEP’s (in conjunction with our Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Principal and Lead Teacher), assisting special education teachers and overall ensuring that the school is appropriately serving students daily and making sure that our families feel connected and supported overall. This position will report directly to the leadership team under the school Principal and Lead Teacher and deliver a successful social, emotional, and academic experience.
As a member of our team, the Special Education Teachers responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Gather and analyze information from outside professionals and collaborate with them to ensure generalization of skills.
· Understand various disabilities and delivering creative curriculum and accommodations that meet student’s needs.
· Consult with other teachers, BCBA’s, and paraprofessionals who might need support working with a student with challenging learning issues.
· Review testing and documentation from other sources to support supplementary Individualized Education Plan (IEP) writing (accommodations and goals.)
· Provide formal testing and assessment in conjunction with our Principal and Lead Teacher and BCBA to create IEP’s and Behavior plans for each individual student.
· Provide professional development to staff around particular diagnosis, symptoms, and interventions.
· Support specific parent education training sessions and training
· Attend parent meetings monthly or as needed and required on an individual basis.
· Teach/Maintain a daily limited case load of students
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Professional Qualifications:
· State Licensure/Certificate in Educational Therapy, Special Education, **or** similar advanced educational background in learning disabilities, ASD, ADHD, and emotional disorders is mandatory. Degree preferred.
· Experience with Augmented Communication (AAC) Devices is Preferred.
· A minimum of three (1) years experience educating students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related learning difficulties
· A minimum of one year (1) experience in implementing curriculum
· Managerial, program development, and teaching experience
· Experience in special education: the IEP process, 504s, and ISPs.

The SHINE BEHAVIORAL ACADEMY school provides comprehensive, behaviorally based special education and intervention for children with autism and other developmental disabilities in grades K-6.
The educational philosophy is based upon the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), with a focus on customization and parent education. Classrooms are kept small for personalized instruction and the number of children in each class is based on the function and abilities of the students within the class itself. The Senior Special Education Teacher works closely with the Shine Behavioral Clinical Director and the Shine Academy Administrator to best ensure every child’s curriculum is custom tailored to the appropriate level.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
