Job Title: Foundry Shakeout & Production Support
Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and hard-working team member to join our foundry production team. This hands-on position is responsible for moving molds through the foundry, carefully removing castings from sand molds, transporting castings and materials between departments, and supporting overall foundry operations. This is a physically demanding role that requires regular lifting, standing, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is best suited for individuals who enjoy active, hands-on work and are comfortable performing physical labor throughout the day. No prior foundry experience is required, we are willing to train individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport molds, castings, and materials throughout the foundry using carts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Perform shakeout operations by safely removing castings from sand molds after the casting process.
- Separate castings from molding sand while taking care to prevent damage to finished products.
- Move castings to finishing, inspection, machining, or shipping departments as required.
- Assist with mold handling and production flow to support daily foundry operations.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sweeping and general housekeeping.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe material handling practices.
- Work closely with supervisors and coworkers to maintain production schedules and workflow.
- Assist with other foundry support tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- No previous foundry or manufacturing experience required.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment.
- Reliable attendance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- On-the-job training will be provided.
- Manufacturing, warehouse, construction, landscaping, farming, or other labor-intensive experience is beneficial but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Regular lifting and carrying of materials weighing 20 pounds or more.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a foundry environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and vibration.
- Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm, Friday overtime 5:00am - 1:00pm possible
Wage: $20.00 / hour
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
