Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial tractor-trailers with headracks and car hauler trailers. Trucks and equipment are less than 5 years old and all have automatic transmissions
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring vehicle security during transit
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, trailer, and load to identify any maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Drive route schedules efficiently while maintaining compliance with federal and state transportation laws
- Manage freight documentation accurately, including Electronic Logging Device, load sheets, invoices, and route reports
- Communicate effectively with office and customers
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
Experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially Class A CDL
- Hands-on experience driving in various environments and weather conditions
- We are willing to train loading/unloading
We only travel regionally, so the team is through the house all week. Generally home every other night. Weekends are optional.
We pay a percentage of the load, DOE. (We pay transparently. We don't pay per mile but crunched some average numbers and it works out to be starting at about $0.80/mile, for comparison across the boards.)
